Medicare Part C - Medicare Advantage
Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are Medicare-approved plans provided by private companies that must follow Medicare rules. These plans offer an alternative to Original Medicare for your health and drug coverage; which includes Part A, Part B, and usually Part D.
In most cases, you’ll need to use doctors who are in the plan’s network. Plans may have lower out-of-pocket costs than Original Medicare.
Plans may offer some extra benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t cover; such as vision, hearing, transportation to doctor visits, GYM membership, meal benefits, OTC, dental and additional services.
There are different types of Part C Plans; you must compare them to make the right choice for your individual needs.
Types of Medicare Advantage (Part C):
- HMO Health Maintenance Organization
- PPO Preferred Provider Organization
- POS Point of Service
- C-SNP Chronic Special Needs Plan
- D-SNP Dual Special Needs Plan
To join a Medicare Advantage you must be a U.S citizen or lawfully present in the U.S.
You also must have Medicare Parts A and B and live in the plan’s service area
